Give the engineer the pressure history

Record when pressure falls, how frequently the system needs topping up and which areas are affected. Pressure loss can have several causes, so a leak investigation should follow an assessment of the system.

Finding concealed pipework leaks

Thermal imaging, acoustic listening, pressure testing and tracer gas may be used in combination. Thermal images show temperature differences; the engineer uses other evidence to assess whether those differences indicate a leak.

Keep essential services in the plan

Tell ADI about heating-sensitive areas, peak hot water demand and any backup arrangements. The home’s responsible staff must authorise isolations and agree how affected residents and staff will be supported.

The findings can guide targeted access and a repair. Confirm which repair work is included in the quotation and which needs a separate contractor.
